As a child, my family and I moved around a lot. For a period of time we lived in Turkey and Italy, which instilled in me a fascination for different cultures. I knew that travel and exploring would be an important part of my future. I also knew from a young age that I was fascinated with the dynamic that takes place between coach and client. Some of my fondest memories are from high school when I was a swim coach for a nationally ranked swim club. With a staff of coaches, many much older than me, I found a way to motivate and inspire. While in my early 20s I had the opportunity to receive the same inspiration from a mentor 60 years my senior whom I considered one of my dearest friends.

The corporate world beckoned me right out of college where I spent 13 years problem solving for others. Realizing that I could do the same thing while owning my own company, I took a sabbatical to Bali and Thailand and spent two months examining my life and its trajectory. This transitional point gave me the perspective and confidence to return and start a consulting business, expanding on my problem-solving skills that I had honed while working for others. Soon after, I founded a software company aimed at Fortune 500 tax departments. Again, I played on my strengths and identified a need for tax departments and created a product that provided solutions.

The challenges of a start-up are daunting if not intimidating to most. Sourcing for seed money, working endless hours, and wearing every executive hat, I knew that this was my moment. Building the foundation for a thriving company was extremely gratifying. After running the company for 7 years as CEO/Chairman, I decided to retire and explore other avenues. I got married, adopted our daughter, and traveled extensively. I found Bali again, this time with my husband. It was there that we decided to build a tropical dream home somewhere in the world. Costa Rica and Manuel Antonio attracted us with its vibrant ecosystem and natural beauty. While acting as general contractor, I traveled between California, Costa Rica and Bali, oversaw the construction of our home in Costa Rica and ran my furniture import business in Bali. We decided to share the beauty, nature, relaxation and generosity of spirit of the Costa Rica with others and designed our Villa Perezoso (www.VillaPerezoso.com) to become a vacation rental for others to enjoy. I am proud to say we are top ranked on tripadvisor for the region and that we have a staff that knows how to be in relationship with others to help provide the best vacation experience.

In or out of the boardroom, I’ve always made a point to fill my life with personal riches and seize every opportunity available. I’ve learned that we aren’t defined by limits, be they gender or geographic. I’m proof that one can do it all. Thanks to my coach and the coach training I received at CTI (Coaches Training Institute), I’m now living my dream and here to help you reach yours.
